The Role

Renewable Energy Sector (solar, wind, battery, hybrid renewables, owners engineer)
Power Utility Sector (transmission, distribution, substations including primary and secondary design, underground cable)
Infrastructure Sector (HV & LV reticulation, motor control, process control instrumentation)

Key Responsibilities

Delivering Primary and/or Secondary Substation designs
Technical delivery, and client relationship management for all projects
Ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
Contributing to bid preparation and providing technical input across other disciplines where needed
Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables

About You

Relevant Tertiary Qualifications, with a focus in Electrical
15+ years Primary and/or Secondary Systems design or drafting experience in Power Utilities, Renewables, and Industrial Projects

Relevant software experience

AutoCAD, MicroStation, Helios 3D etc.
Experience with QLD Network Service Providers (desirable)
Understanding of multidisciplinary projects drawings and document control and management systems
Excellent communication skills
