ABOUT THE ROLE:


Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer who is well versed in payroll and has advanced experience working with MYOB to join the team on a 12 month part-time (3 days per week) contract.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Processing and managing fortnightly payroll cycles
  • Champion payroll function involving understanding awards clauses
  • Processing overtime and Leave requests
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Monthly PAYG withholding
  • Maintenance of employee payroll documentation and ensure payroll data is accurate
  • Calculate workers compensation payments (if required)
  • Provide weekly payroll reports to Management
  • Monthly Payroll Tax payments
  • Monthly payments of superannuation
  • Review existing payroll processes and become involved in process improvements related to payroll
  • Assist with month end reporting within MYOB Advanced and reporting
  • Ad hoc tasks from the Financial Controller
  • Assist with workforce management module rollout

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' handson payroll processing experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience with MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Solid understanding of payroll operations (payroll function involving understanding Awards clauses.) with exposure to Superannuation, PAYG and tax
  • Experience using MYOB
