ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be integral in supporting the GM of Finance in maintaining and maturing financial compliance and reporting capabilities within the business.

It will involve preparing statutory compliance reporting, with emphasis on accuracy and quality output.

Further, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the GL system and providing technical and analytical support to business units and manage the external audit process.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage the financial integrity of the General Ledger ensuring compliance with accounting requirements
Manage and ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly consolidation schedules and Statements
Overall responsibility for the timely production of month end results and management reporting in tandem with the Financial Planning and Analysis team, including review and confirmation of the accuracy of the results in conjunction with the business
Manage and make process improvements over the month end process to ensure the efficient and accurate production of management reports and financial statements, and identify any business improvement opportunities.
Manage and direct the process to accurately produce the quarterly financial accounts, half year and year end statutory reports in a timely manner
Support the business functions e.g. budget, forecasting and dynamic accounting support. In conjunction with other teams, help develop budget and reforecasts, and assist with monthly variance analysis
Manage and cultivate good working relationships with the Treasury team through month end processes, refinancing projects, various ad hoc Treasury projects. Coensuring responsibility for correct accounting treatment of refinance transactions.
Coaching and development of team members to encourage and promote a collaborative team that seeks continuous improvement and lateral thinking
Manage and cultivate good working relationships with the Tax team, as well as direct the preparation of the monthly BAS and indirect taxes (eg payroll tax) and other such items.
Provide support to the Group Financial Controller and Head of Finance as required.
Ad hoc projects / work / reporting as required by the business

IDEAL CANDIDATE

CA qualified with at least 6 years of postqualification experience
Demonstrated working knowledge and experience of Australian Accounting Standards
Experience in Commercial Industrial / Infrastructure Sector preferred
Experience with preparation of AIFRS statutory reports and ASX reporting preferred
Practical experience with ERP systems
Advanced excel skills
Well developed people management and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Ability to simplify and explain complex activity
Driven and highly skilled in time management and organisation
Focus on meeting deadlines and providing great customer service
