About The Role


The Compliance Operations Manager is the conduit between the Compliance and Operations teams, working closely with both to prioritise programs of work, identify trends that need further attention and is accountable for decisions related to compliance for ALH with long term impact.

This role represents the GM Operations for internal compliance related work, escalating as appropriate. The Compliance Operations Manager also owns BAU items related to decisions on security assets, including ATMs (& RC Pos), alarms, note
counters and CCTV.


This role also works closely with the National Risk & Assurance Lead on CSA topics related to regulatory compliance to address corrective actions, including national initiatives, required to meet our compliance and responsibility obligations.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Work closely with Legal & Compliance to embed the required frameworks/controls to ensure that we are meeting our regulatory obligations and EDGs value of Leading in Responsibility.
  • Prioritise the regulatory programs of work to ensure that highest risk areas are addressed and changes in venues are capacity planned to ensure effective implementation.
  • Partnering with Legal and Compliance and the National Risk & Assurance Lead, make decisions on initiatives with long term implications that embed our controls to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Identify and analyse Legal & Compliance issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and recommendations to the GM Operations to address gaps
  • Development and execution of plans in partnership with the Operations team to address key, high risk, and/or ongoing regulatory issues.
  • Use feedback from the business (in particular State Managers) to prioritise initiatives
  • Identify and assess risks to the success of initiatives including, dependencies across initiatives, business impact, customer impact, and complexity
  • Ownership of security controls, including alarms and CCTV and transition into appropriate areas (eg CCTV to Facilities Management)
  • Ownership of Security assets (eg. note counters, safes) and transitions into appropriate area
  • SME for projects related to legal and compliance, security regulatory.
  • Through driving responsibility in compliance enabling positive guest experiences aligned to our purpose of creating pub experiences that locals love.

A Bit About You

  • Extensive experience in compliance, in particular security, gaming, liquor and AML.
  • Experienced in managing change with multiple business stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
  • Analytical and detailed working approach
  • Selforganization / good time management skills
  • Experience in managing smaller development/improvement processes & systems
  • A track record of translating data into actionable insights & business improvements.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to learn new systems, operations and follow processes.
