Role:

The requirement of the role may require attendance during school vacation periods, up to a maximum of 6 days.


PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Executive Assistant has overall responsibility for professional and confidential administration support to the Principal Team.

It is expected that they will provide a high level of customer service to the student body, staff and visitors to the school and be competent in the provision of up to date and relevant information.

Accurate data recording is important as it reflects in the provision of information and reports to families, staff, school council and the community.

A professional image is the impact Broadmeadows Primary School is aiming to achieve at all times. It is important the Executive Assistant operates in a consistent, professional, courteous, efficient manner at all times.


The Executive Assistant will provide administration and logístical support in the preparation of all materials and documentation needed by the principal ensuring DET guidelines and policy are referenced and adhered to in all operations.


ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND IMPACT
The Executive Assistant provides professional and confidential administration support to the Principal team being the Principal, 1 Assistant Principal.

The Executive Assistant act as one of the first points of contact for enquiries received at the school pertaining to the Principal.

Confidentiality and consistency is vital in all aspects of this role as the dissemination of consistent, accurate information is essential.


CLASSIFICATION CONTEXT AND TASK LEVEL


A position at this level is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services.

The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field.

It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.

Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved.

This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.

Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility.

Staff management issues will be resolved with mínimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases.

Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice, although this will generally be confined to matters relating to the immediate work area, service provision or educational program and is unlikely to impact substantially on whole of school operations.

Distinguished from ES Level 1 Range 2 by the level of management responsibility for the work area that will have a greater impact on school administration and operations
