Primary Purpose of the Role


The Aurora Expeditions Management Team is dedicated to ensuring the Aurora culture is embedded into all aspects of our expeditions.

To do this we engage skilled and culturally fit expedition team members who together form high performing, cohesive, and passenger focused teams.

We seek explorers, adventurers and experts who are passionate about sustainability and educating our passengers on the importance of protecting the remote destinations we visit.

The Expeditions Team Operations Coordinator supports the Expedition Team Operations Manager in ensuring the Expedition Team is able to deliver voyages of the highest possible standard to our passengers.

This role is responsible for the administration related to the sourcing of expedition team members, allocation to schedules, training activities and systems.

This role will support the team in the coordination of special projects, research activities and events.


Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the Expeditions Team Operations Manager with recruitment activities designed to grow the pool of expedition team members which will meet the strategic and operational needs of Aurora's voyages.
  • Responsible for coordinating expedition team members' assessments, certifications, licences and other operational requirements
  • Coordinate the administration for training programs and liaise with relevant bodies to coordinate in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the currency and timely uploading of records in the salesforce database.
  • Provide administrative assistance to ensure resources, expedition team voyage documents, policies, are current and prepared in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the culture, values and ethics of Aurora Expeditions are maintained and enhanced with all expedition team members.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in a coordinator or administrator role (operations/logistics/HR experience desirable)
  • Experience working in the cruise/travel industry (desirable)
  • Exceptional administration skills and good working knowledge of MS Office range of products.
  • Appreciation and respect for sustainability, natural and cultural environments.
  • Experience and knowledge running online meetings with streaming platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.
  • Digital savvy with experience working with CRMs such as Salesforce
