Safe House Psychology is a new private practice which aims to deliver specialised and professional Psychological counselling services to people of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults, from the ages of 5+ onwards.

Safe House Psychology is inclusive of all cultural and racially diverse individuals, couples, and families, providing support in clinical, educational and developmental areas of psychology.


Due to recent growth and expansion, Safe House Psychology is now seeking an ambitious, passionate and driven individual who is looking to join and support our growing team, providing excellent customer service and administrative care to all clients and staff.


About the Role:


Safe House Psychology currently has
Part-time positions available, as an After Hours Receptionist (5pm - 9pm, two days a week).


Duties will include, however are not limited to:

  • Deliver exemplary customer service to clients of Safe House Psychology.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound communication.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all client communication using our Client Management System.
  • Efficiently manage client appointments, including bookings, cancellations, rescheduling appointments.
  • Ensure precise receipt of client payments and accurate cash management. Process Medicare Rebates.
  • Respond to inbound calls and manage databases and confidential documents.
  • Liaise with external parties such as GPs, insurance companies, and local businesses.
  • Assist in marketing and social media tasks.
  • Conduct intake assessments at the time of making a booking.
  • Providing assistance to the Director and all clinicians as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • The ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, multitask, work quickly and cope well under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills with proven proficiency using practice management software and a willingness to learn our systems.
  • Quick learning ability for new programs.
  • A warm and approachable demeanour, with confidence in working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to maintain a calm, sensitive, pleasant and respectful manner with a diverse range of people.
  • Friendly, confident, and assertive telephone manner.
  • Flexibility, accountability, and a keen willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail in customer service, typing, spelling, and data entry.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills, and proficiency in handling cash and client accounts.
  • Experience in Health Services and an understanding of the importance of client confidentiality
  • Availability for After Hours shifts
