The key disciplines that are represented in the School are anthropology, archaeology, cultural studies, gender studies, history, linguistics and languages, all contributing to the foundational knowledge of Asia and the Pacific.

The opportunity


We seek an experienced Laboratory, Fieldwork, and Safety Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting laboratory and fieldwork related research.

The Laboratory, Fieldwork and Safety Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the ANU Work, Health & Safety Management System Handbook and provide scientific advice and training to staff, students, and visiting researchers to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the laboratories.


The Laboratory, Fieldwork, and Safety Coordinator will be experienced in the scheduling and maintenance of a broad range of complex scientific equipment and procedures within the laboratories, and the provision of high-level technical advice, complex problem solving, and support to academics, students, and other external users.

Your ability to lead by example, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels within the School.

The ideal applicant will be involved in the mentoring and training of HDR students in the School.
