About This Opportunity

The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health have two opportunities for Research Fellows to work on a program of research. In these roles, you will support the research undertaken in the

ARC Centre of Program Excellence for children and families over the Life Course

As a Research Fellow contributing to this research program, you will require experience that can contribute to current research in:

  • Life course epidemiology
  • Maternal and child health
  • Social determinants of health
  • Health and environment
  • Social and biological disadvantage
  • Health services
  • Wellbeing of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people
  • Evidence-based social and health policies and practices


These positions will work on a range of projects, beyond a narrow research specialisation, including Category 1 and externally commissioned research projects.

These projects will be in multidisciplinary teams and often in collaboration with non-university stakeholders from government, industry, the not-for-profit sector, and end-user communities.

These positions will also prepare and present training courses as required and include project management and administrative tasks.- Longitudinal data analysis- Quantitative integrated data analysis- Implementation science- Experimental or non-experimental policy and program evaluation- Data science methods such as machine learning for structured or unstructured data- Qualitative case studies

Criteria for Academic Performance

These are full-time (100%), fixed-term positions for up to 2 years.

At Academic level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually.

As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You- Completion of a PhD in the discipline area.- A growing profile in research in the discipline area.- A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.- Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining, and managing external research funding.- A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.- Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
