Whether you're experienced in the Education or childcare sector, have done some babysitting, this is the first time you're thinking about working with children, or anything in between, THIS is the role for you

About the role


Leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years.

You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.


  • Develop and facilitate an engaging childcentered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft whatever you and the children are into
  • Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
  • Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
  • Manage the daytoday operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the school

Your new home is at Helping Hands Meridan, a beautiful OSHC service operating from Meridan State College.

You will be taking ownership of this established service and will have the support of a strong and supportive team of regular educators.

The Helping Hands service at Meridan is licensed for 90 children, with average attendances of 40 children of a morning and 60 in the afternoons.

The OSHC service has ownership of their own room within the school grounds.

This large space is split into two by a lovely office and large kitchen area and there is a large deck surrounding the space.

The service also has access to a multitude of outdoor spaces and operates with the support of a wonderful school community.

Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

  • Enjoy working with kids
  • Strong and clear communication
  • Team player with a desire to become a service leader
  • Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it) and a state check for working with children
  • Australian work rights
  • Diploma or higher (Or working towards) in: Teaching, Education, Music, Behavioral Science, Community Services, Youth, Creative or Fine Arts, Early Childhood Education, Nursing or Allied Health, Sport and Recreation or Human Welfare.
