About your new role


We are seeking an experienced Head of Risk to join our Risk Leadership Team and work on-site in our Gold Coast Property.

You will support our Queensland business to identify and manage emerging risks based on industry and expert insights.

Being the eyes of risk on-site, this is an exciting opportunity to establish independent oversight, review, and challenge of the risk profile for the Star Gold Coast as well as the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.


You will review, challenge, and sign off on the identification and assessment of material risks and key controls, independently assess the effectiveness of risk frameworks and policies and drive continuous improvement across the Gold Coast business.

By supporting the investigation of incidents and issues, you will drive accountability of company programs to ensure the group complies with all laws and regulatory standards.

You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders to create a culture of ownership in doing the right thing, whilst achieving business objectives.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive experience in risk management, governance or a strategic role is essential.
  • Previous experience within operational risk or safer gaming is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of governance and stakeholder management.
  • Previous experience in a regulatory environment such as the casino/gaming industry, financial institution, corporation, or a government agency is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in drafting policy, framework and procedures.
  • Experience in the design, implementation and management of crime risk management processes and demonstrated success in influencing, leading and managing others.
