Salary:
$3,887 to $4,338 per fortnight (based on 70 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and a nine day fortnight. A leaseback vehicle will also be offered.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tree Management Coordinator to join and lead our Tree Management Team


About us
Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD.

Known as the 'Bushland Shire', our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape.

The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.


About the role


This position is responsible for effectively administering the protection and enhancement of trees on public land as well as those on protected on private land and associated with development proposals.

This position will also identify and implement strategies and opportunities to enhance the Shire's urban forest.


About you


To be successful in this role you will have an AQF Level 5 Diploma in Arboriculture, with extensive experience in assessing urban trees for tree health, hazards and protection of trees on development sites.


You will have experience supervising and leading a team as well as the ability to build and foster strong working relationships with other disciplines.

You will be an experienced problem solver as well as having high analytical skills with effective communication.

You will be confident in budget management and research into policy development particularly around tree management, risk management and occupational health and safety applied to urban trees.
