Key Worker - Early Childhood Intervention

Employment Term - Ongoing - Full Time or Part Time (Minimum 4 days per week considered pro rata)**
Salary - $91,000 to $95,000 (depending on experience), including annual leave loading and superannuation + Car Options + Mobile + Laptop

Location - Southern Brisbane/Springwood and surrounding areas


In your new role you as a Key Worker, you will provide early childhood intervention services to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families.

You will work on behalf of the Everyday Independence team who'll be supporting you to help families to break down barriers to reveal children's true abilities.


As a Key Worker you will:

  • Plan and coordinate supports with the child and family that reflect strengths based and family centered approaches
  • Deliver supports to children and families that lead to positive outcomes, utilising a transdisciplinary key worker approach
  • Assess and communicate the child's development and ongoing progress
  • Facilitate a team around the child that promotes participation in family, community and cultural activities
  • Ensure that supports are clearly documented, coordinated, and communicated to families and internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet the responsibilities of your role including positive outcomes with children and families, contributions to the team and meeting key performance indicators
  • Demonstrate the values of Everyday Independence

Your Everyday
If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

  • Working in the social model means you'll work and deliver therapy in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, and community centres
  • Attended a family's home to conduct their initial appointment, utilizing your assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child and goals
  • Worked collaboratively with a kinder teacher at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
  • Coached parents through finding a school that best suits their young child's needs
  • Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
  • Built meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
  • Documented, and billed for, each session through our online participant management system
  • Provided support for a 5 year old after school so that they can establish consistent routines
  • Attended the weekly team meeting in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
  • You'll have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • If you're an Occupational Therapist, be AHPRA registered
  • If you're a Speech Pathologist, be SPA registered
  • If you're an Educator, hold full Teachers Registration with the relevant State Education Authority
  • Early years experience or Disability i.e. Special Education Qualifications
  • Be passionate about providing a deeper level of support to children and families
  • Be a great listener and have a positive approach to risk
  • Have a drive to delivering high impact outcomes in children and families' lives
  • Be flexible and able to work in a commercial environment
  • Have a committed to developing yourself and the people around you
  • Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check
  • Hold a valid drivers licence
