About the role


The Library Service Officer (Children's and Youth Services) works within the Community Arts, Culture and Library Services Department, and at both Springvale and Dandenong Library sites.


The primary objectives of the position are to:

  • Support and assist the community to access and use Library services and resources.
  • Deliver high quality Library Programs that support learning, literacy and social inclusion.
  • Contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service through Greater Dandenong's Library Services
  • Support operational needs for Children's Programming and FrontofHouse shifts, including evening shifts

About you
The successful applicant will have experience in service delivery and an understanding of positive customer service principles.

They will also be able to demonstrate their suitability for delivery of library services and programs for children, families and young people.

The successful applicant will bring a passion for promoting literacy, and have experience working in a culturally and linguistically diverse and busy environments.

An understanding and demonstrated experience of current technologies, and the willingness to embrace and explore emerging technologies relevant to libraries, is essential.
