Reporting to the Data Engineering Lead, the Data Engineer assumes the responsibility of designing, modelling, joining, building, and maintaining datasets from various sources. These datasets serve as a foundational resource for WesTrac's Data Platforms, enabling the organization to derive meaningful insights and make informed decisions.

Operating collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the role ensures the accuracy of WesTrac's data delivery by providing comprehensive information for analytics and data visualisation, contributing to the generation of valuable business insights.

Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)

Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5 hour days

To be successful the following is required:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or other relatable discipline
Previous experience in the development of data warehousing and analytics solutions
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
Team player and collaborative
Quick learner of new technologies and methods
Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented, with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage and report on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritising efforts, managing time effectively, and requiring minimal supervision in the execution.
Demonstrated advanced skills in ELT (extract, load and transform) processes for Orchestration
Advanced knowledge of SQL
Knowledge in Change control using Git and release pipeline experience using Azure Devops.
Understanding of query optimization, Structured Streaming, and Adaptive Query Execution highly regarded
Experience with the SnowFlake platform and Informatica Data Ingestion, Quality and Catalogue highly regarded
