About the School
Woodcrest State College is a Prep-Year 12 College in the Greater Springfield area of Ipswich. Woodcrest State College is an innovative school that provides the ultimate learning experience for the needs of the students. The College was founded in 1998 and is the original school in the vibrant hub of Springfield. The 'Education City' concept was established and fostered at Woodcrest State College. From the enrolment of 80 students in its first year. The College now delivers a quality education to more than 1800 students. Also forming part of our Campus are C&K Woodcrest Community Kindergarten and the WesTEC Trade Training Centre.

About the Role
The successful applicant for Head of School will have demonstrated experience and outcomes in leading school-wide improvement agendas.

They will demonstrate proven capability in leading staff around complex behaviours and supporting students with a diverse range of learning needs.

Knowledge of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) would be an advantage.
As the Head of School, you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
