Chris O'Brien Lifehouse is seeking motivated and enthusiastic applicants to fill the position of an Aseptic Compounding Technician to work full time in our on-site aseptic manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will be involved in the preparation and aseptic manufacture of various chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trial products for intravenous administration in cancer treatment.

The role is initially a 12-month fixed-term position, with a possibility of further extension.

Primary responsibilities for the role include:

  • Aseptic compounding of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trial products
  • Dispensing PBS and nonPBS scripts
  • Worksheet preparation
  • Batch assembly
  • Product decontamination
  • Dispatching finished products to the Day Therapy Unit
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Other processes relating to product preparation and facility maintenance
- be committed to ensuring product quality and patient safety
- be able to perform tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
- have excellent attention to detail
- be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks appropriately
- be able to work well and communicate clearly with other team members
- be able to stay calm and maintain all of the above qualities while working under time pressure
- be computer literate and able to quickly learn new programs
- be responsible and reliable

Previous experience in pharmacy and/or aseptic compounding is desirable but not essential. Extensive training for all responsibilities will be provided, regardless of prior experience.
