Lead Planner - Gibson Island

ABOUT THE ROLE
FFI is working on a green hydrogen and ammonia opportunity in Brisbane.

We are working with others on the conversion of an existing gas based ammonia production facility at Gibson Island in Brisbane, focusing on construction of an industrial scale hydrogen production facility.


We are seeking a Lead Planner to be responsible for all planning activities for the development of Gibson Island facilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a complete planning, control and monitoring service to the Gibson Island project facilities team, covering all contractors and associated licensors/subcontractors.
  • Closely monitor all aspects of the schedule, appraise & advise the package managers of progress and trends; make recommendations for preventive or corrective action in the event of any deviations from the program.
  • Present clear and concise planning reports / documentation on a regular basis, this would include bar charts and networks, manhours loading, Scurves and productivity reports.
  • Attend progress/Coordination meetings and discuss planning items, communicate meeting outcomes as appropriate to the team members.
  • Provide an independent assessment of individual contractors progress and communicate accordingly to project team members.
  • Assist the Operations team in development of a completions/systems handover and commissioning schedule.
  • Provision of effective construction planning and Coordination of the project team inclusive of contractors, licensors and subcontractors.
  • To ensure that planning activities have satisfactory incorporated the requirements of project and appropriate regulations.
  • Develop and maintain the overall Gibson Island integrated schedule which sits in the Project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Perth.
  • Maintain close integration with Project Services groups in other locations and input as required.
  • Liaise with the contractors and associated licensors/subcontractors planning engineers, with regards to the status of agreed deliverables.
  • Coordinate schedule interface with other members of the Project Services team, i.e. Cost team, Contracts and Procurement.
  • Mentor planners in scheduling techniques, technical knowledge, project management principles and encourage best practice.
  • Encourage planners to meet their performance goals and project team goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback to planners on their performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor Degree in Construction/Engineering or a related field, or min 10 years planning demonstrated in Engineering & Construction
  • Proficient with Primavera P6 and Pertmaster Risk Analysis software.
  • Microsoft Office products.
  • Broad understanding of facilities engineering and Project Control issues.
  • Highly developed cross cultural influencing skills for work with subcontract staff of varied nationalities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Process Facility Engineering principles.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated knowledge of project management principles.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and contract processes.
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated knowledge of schedule risk concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated knowledge of facilities construction technics.
