The Role


This position is responsible for the day-to-day facilitation of the Service Desk Team to ensure the provision of high quality, accurate and timely service and advice to members of the school community in relation to ICT matters.

In addition, the position will assist in the planning, co-ordinating and management of the development and implementation of small-medium ICT projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the Service Desk levels of service inline with best practice service delivery frameworks
  • Work as a member of the Service Desk Team members to:
  • Assist each other as needed to balance job assignments and workload
- perform and adhere to defined job resolution protocols

  • Communicating information within the Technology Services (TS) Department
  • Installing, configuring, and upgrading operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
  • Installing, assembling and configuration of computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
  • Microsoft Office productivity suite.

Qualities and Skills

  • Experience (35 years preferable) working in a Service Desk role with exposure to enterprise network / server environments.
  • Prior education / school experience is highly desirable.
  • Working with Enterprise Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Exchange, Active Director, and SAS technologies.
  • Experience in managing workloads and priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail across technical documentation and be able to consult and advise with Senior Management and other internal stakeholders within the School.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, the School community, representatives of public and private organisations and others.
  • Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • To be punctual, reliable, and professionally presented for the environment.
  • Capable of working unsupervised or as part of a team.
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgement within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Organising own work, setting priorities and meeting time critical deadlines.
  • A willingness to keep up to date with emerging technologies and developments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma Qualification (or higher) in IT or relevant field (highly desirable)
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card.
