  • About the program
  • AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
  • Would you like to be an integral part of the project controls and cost schedule team?
    Your responsibilities will include:
  • As the Project Controls Lead, you will be tasked with providing day-to-day management, tasking and oversight of the team, manage the development and implementation of the Earned Value Management System, liaise with Project Manager(s) and other Key Stakeholders to ensure the appropriate level of project support is provided and develop and maintain project plans, guidance and work instructions and ad hoc reporting.
  • Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
  • Drive the correct or tailored utilisation of Earned Value Management standards, processes and systems
  • Maintain the overarching Governance for the project
  • Actively support and engage in project meetings and reviews
  • Conduct regular one on one meetings with project specific team members
  • Provide project specific team members with on the job training and support when required

About you:


  • You will have a solid foundation in Project/Cost controls, ideally within a Defence environment and be keen to work within a dynamic environment with new technologies. Ideally you will hold a qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Leadership expertise in small to medium teams
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Significant Earned Value Management System experience
  • Strong experience in review of governance related aspects across projects
  • Experience in developing and maintaining processes and procedures relevant to Project Controls
