The Role


The DSAS will link data on serving ADF members with DVA client data and internal Defence systems to leverage technological innovations and focus on injury and illness prevention and treatment in service, whole-of-life wellbeing and resilience, and transition support.

The DSAS will provide 'real time' and actionable insights which will inform decisions, policy, strategy and initiatives to improve the health, wellbeing and safety outcomes for current and serving ADF members and their families.

As part of the DSAS team, you will be supporting a strategic priority project for Defence through significant stakeholder management including utilising your excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills to ensure that business needs are met.

Within this project there are four main streams that you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, development and implementation of, including:

  • The Protecting Lifetime Wellbeing of ADF Personnel Framework.
  • Data.
  • Privacy.
  • Governance and Project Management.


We are looking for ambitious and motivated individuals to join our dynamic team to support the delivery of the Protecting Lifetime Wellbeing of ADF Personnel Project.


About our Team

We are an enthusiastic and motivated team within the Directorate of Health and Wellbeing in the Work Health Safety Branch, who value working together to deliver outcomes.

We collectively aim to optimise capability through the mental and physical health and safety of the APS and ADF.

The Directorate consists of three teams:
Mental Health Programs, Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and the Protecting Lifetime Wellbeing of ADF Personnel Project team.


The team prides themselves on their flexible and supportive workplace culture, where inclusivity and collaboration is key and connectedness is valued.

Additionally, the team are highly supportive of flexible working arrangements, with many of our team working in various locations around the country.


  • Proven experience to build and sustain relationships both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to support strategic objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work in complex and changing environments.
  • Experience writing briefs, talking points and papers is ideal but not essential.
  • Project and contract management experience is ideal but not essential.
They will be committed to achieving quality outcomes for the project and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
