Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) Limited is the premier thoroughbred racing venue in Queensland.

As the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland, the Brisbane Racing Club has over 70 race meetings and will host over 200,000 patrons throughout the next season.

Race meetings are conducted at the club's two racetracks, Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourses.


The role
The Club requires an experienced Gardener to complement our team in a fulltime role.

This role is to provide support to the Grounds and Gardening team to maintain the BRC's gardens to a high standard.


Day to day duties of the role
As a BRC
Gardener you will be responsible for:

Ensuring that the grounds and gardens, environs of the Eagle Farm Racecourse, Doomben Racecourse, The Eagle Farm Infield Precinct, Racecourse Village and all other venues of the club operates and manages are maintained to the highest standard, as set by the Club and Head of Grounds and Gardens.

This position will involve detailed garden maintenance including the following:

  • Maintaining the visual aspect of the properties to a high standard
  • Lawn and garden maintenance services
  • Pest and disease management
  • Weed management
  • Turf care
  • Irrigation knowledge
  • Pruning and hedging
  • Operation of tools and equipment
  • Maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Ensure that property is kept in immaculate condition
  • New plantation on the property

Skills and Qualifications to perform the role:

  • Minimum Cert III in Horticulture: 3 years (preferred)


  • Certificate I

  • IV (preferred)
  • Knowledge and appreciation of OH&S and systems
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining gardens and grounds
  • Herbicide / Chemical Users Certificate highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a strong work ethic and excellent timemanagement skills
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve common goals
  • Australians Driver's license
  • Manual C class
  • MUST be reliable and committed to work early mornings and on weekends when needed.
  • Must be motivated, able to work unsupervised and autonomously


Under the terms of the _Brisbane Racing Club Enterprise Agreement_, you will be required to work 24 Saturday Race Days each year which are rostered in advance.
