Colac Otway Shire Council are seeking an Emergency Management Officer (Fire Awareness) to join the team in a permanent full time position.

The position objectives of the Emergency Management Officer (Fire Awareness) are:

This role will assist in planning, implementing, promoting, facilitating and reviewing Colac Otways' emergency management and fire awareness responsibilities within the Council, community, emergency management agencies and community safety organisations.

It will provide support to the Shire's Emergency Management Unit and includes the position of the Fire Awareness Officer, who will undertake the duties of the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer and must meet all regulatory requirements above the standard.

This will be achieved through exceptional relationship and stakeholder management throughout the community.
The position must comply with all legislative responsibilities and understands the challenges in providing appropriate advice that will support community safety and resilience building
