We are seeking a Drawing Office Checker for an initial contract period of 12 months with a view to extend based on workload, skill level and adaptability to our working environment.
In this role you will review and check 3D models, drawings and documents for engineering and project specific compliance to standards and specifications.
You will have experience checking models and drawings of all engineering disciplines including PFD's, P&ID's and Piping Isometrics. You will be conversant with Navisworks, AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Inventor.You will have a keen eye for detail and understand quality requirements for engineering deliverables for fabrication, proposals and presentations.
It is essential to have friendly communication skills on a general and technical level.You will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of Glencore Technology's technical guidelines, standards, policies and statutory requirements.
- Check and approve engineering drawings from the points of view of, technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy and the correct specification of materials and processes
- Contribute effectively to the team ensuring efforts are aligned toward achieving team goals.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including performing the task of relationship management with key manufacturing contractors/partners to obtain feedback on manufacturability of GT Designs
- Coordinate and control drawing quality control activities in accordance with identified Quality Assurance standards, company procedures, client specifications and contract requirements
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of drawing quality best practices.
- Provide support for the Designers, Graduate Designers and the Engineering Team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in Drawing/Design office
- Tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualifications (Associate Diploma at a minimum)
- Min 5 years' Experience in Mining
- Min 5 years' Experience checking 3D models and drawings
- Diplomatic communication skills on technical and advanced level
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work to a tight deadline
