About the Role:


Reporting to the Team Leader, Environment Protection, the Environment Protection Officer is a member of a team responsible for EPA's on-ground regulatory response in the region.

This includes education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action.

You will use your initiative to prioritise tasks and monitor workflow in delivering frontline regulatory operations, aligned to EPA's strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.


In this role you will:


  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, Environment Protection, and supported by Senior Environment Protection Officers, use your initiative, and prioritise tasks to deliver regulatory actions.
  • Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high performing team culture, including by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices.
  • Actively support the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to EPA's regulatory priorities.

_ Skills and Experience:
_


  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualification is desirable.
  • A broad understanding of environmental regulation as it relates to pollution and waste is desirable.
  • Ability to be present at times and locations as required to successfully perform the role. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver's licence.
