We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Partner to support NAB's Personal Banking Direct business.

As the Finance Partner, you will produce and provide commercial financial insight, analysis, and recommendations to drive and improve Business performance.

The role should link internal & external factors impacting our performance, drive discussions, and aid decision making.


You will support and align with the NAB Finance Strategy to modernise Finance and seek opportunities to drive simplification and process efficiencies.


Your key accountabilities will include:


  • Assess, analyse, and investigate aspects of financial reporting for the Personal Direct Business, including core performance metrics and how these metrics impact the P&L. In addition, supporting the production of halfyearly external reporting requirements; consolidated by the PBF Central Reporting team.
  • Support the central PB Finance functions including forecasting, performance & planning and financial reporting/control.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis by using data analytical skills to enable the provision of commercial and financial advice, on both strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Analysis and Insight: obtain historical financial and nonfinancial data and assist to illustrate relationships between data sets, using Power Pivot or Power BI where possible.
  • Key contributor to the maintenance of a strong PB balance sheet control and understanding through central oversight of the sign off balance sheet reconciliations including ensuring aged balances are cleared and reconciliation breaks are clearly understood and providing detailed analysis and information to support the FDC process.
  • Review planning models to ensure business inputs and group assumptions are reflected.
  • Ensure Direct financials are in line with group finance policy requirements and ensure compliance including identifying and addressing any areas of no compliance.
  • Risk and controls: Drive Direct finance risk profile, including model oversight and governance, following modelling best practice, and continuously improve processes for robustness and resiliency but also to tilt away from processing/reporting to analysis and insight.
  • Stakeholder management: respond to business and finance stakeholder queries, present results to senior stakeholders.

Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:


  • Strong stakeholder management skills where you can constructively challenge management's proposals and decisions in relation to the performance of the relevant Business Unit.
  • Experience across a range of Finance disciplines including partnering with divisions, corporate centre planning and reporting and financial control roles.
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business/Economics/Science/Engineering. CA/CPA preferable.
  • Capability to work in a fastpaced, at times ambiguous and complex environment.
  • Data and business intelligence, including advanced Excel skills and ideally some exposure to PowerBI.
  • Good understanding of process, risk and controls on reporting and analysis.
  • Advocate and drive change whilst maintaining effective controls and governance.
  • Strong process improvement capability in both identification and successful implementation of process reengineering initiatives.
  • Sound professional experience in finance/accounting, financial services or corporate reporting.
