Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal applicant for this role will be someone who can:
  • Manage, prioritise and direct the workload of staff where there are conflicts in priorities and limited resources to ensure assessments are processed in a timely manner and meet the relevant key performance indicators.
Analyse and approve the issue of a blue card for applicants who return an assessable history according to the requisite delegation and relevant legislation.

Manage and report on the quality of assessments and recommendations being undertaken by the Eligibility Assessment Team to ensure they reflect quality, consistency and accuracy and are in accordance with the relevant legislative framework.

Ensure learnings from decisions are developed into precedents and implemented across the Eligibility Assessment Team to improve the quality and consistency of decisions.

Analyse and monitor key trends and risks and advise on remediation strategies and plans.

Develop and implement a program of continuous improvement of policies and procedures in line with current research and best practice principles.

Evaluate and provide recommendations on implications from legislative or policy change to ensure that they are consistent with the legislative mandate, and to advise of any operational impact or impact on service delivery outcome for stakeholders, and implement changes as necessary.

Prepare a range of strategic and operational documents as required including briefing papers, reports, submissions and undertake consultation when required.

Manage the complaints process relevant to the Screening Services functions including deciding what action needs to be taken, providing direction/guidance to progress a blue card assessment or to otherwise resolve the matter, monitoring due dates, drafting responses, and providing direction to staff to address complaints orally and in writing.

Research emerging issues and analyse the skills of staff to identify training needs of Eligibility Assessment staff and coordinate and/or source internal and external training requirements.

Perform other duties as required to support the achievement of business and organisational outcomes.
