The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified Secondary School teacher with both tertiary qualifications in teaching and in aspects of specialised/additional needs, particularly with students who are generally high functioning within mainstream classes.


Related experience is essential in teaching students with learning differences and disabilities that affect their access to the curriculum in the School environment.


This might include students with:
Dyslexia and other language disorders, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Autism Spectrum Disorder and hearing and sight impairments


We are seeking a passionate and experienced
Specialist Teacher to join an independent school in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney's Specialist Centre for years 7-12.


The Role:


  • Full Time, temporary for remainder of school year possibility of extension
  • ASAP Start
  • Developing, delivering and assessing learning programs that address a range of learning differences, difficulties, disabilities and needs related to Years 712 students and reporting on these in a timely manner
  • Working with students in small group, classroom and oneonone settings to improve their learning and progress
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, parents and external professionals in relation to the ongoing learning needs of specific students
  • Have a relevant degree/teaching qualification
  • Be accredited with NESA and hold a current Working with Children Check
  • Experience in teaching students from Years with learning differences and disabilities
  • Proven experience in developing, delivering and assessing quality programs that address a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and needs related to Years students and, collaborating with other teachers, parents and external professionals in relation to these
