In the role of Project Officer (Business Improvement and Systems) you will provide advice and support to the Business Improvement and Systems team and the wider Infrastructure Systems Services Unit in the development and ongoing management of divisional Information Communication and Technology (ICT) investments, supporting governance frameworks and the operational management of the departmental portfolio, program, project and contract management ICT solution.

This includes supporting the Manager (Business Improvement and Systems).


Accountabilities includ

  • Proactively:
  • Perform high level secretariat function for several ICT governance groups.
  • Perform the role of SharePoint Site Customer Representative and Business
Systems Administrator for Portfolio, Investment and Programming (PIP)

Branch including:

Provision of support to PIP Branch Business Systems Administrators (BSA's) to pro-actively maintain all PIP Branch SharePoint sites and pages.


  • Manage workflow through multiple generic mailboxes within the team, i.e. actioning/assigning, and record keeping as required.
  • Support divisional and branch ICT Project reporting requirements.
  • Support Manager with ICT Contract Management activities, i.e. Secretariat function for vendor meetings; processing of vendor invoices; and other contract management activities as required.
  • Conduct stakeholder engagement with departmental staff on various work tasks and projects to deliver on team objectives on time.

ISS Unit monthly meetings; Cabcharge Card management; Go Card management; stationery ordering, staff travel and accommodation etc.

  • Participate in a team environment whether on project teams or within branch units/teams and maintain effective relationships with client, stakeholders, project team members and branch members.
  • Demonstrating effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to clearly and concisely analyse and express ideas and issues.
  • Organise work within agreed timeframes and with minimum supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant policies and procedures relating to team accountabilities.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team (and supporting others as directed).
  • Participate in training and development opportunities as necessary to achieve branch goals.
  • Comply with public sector legislation, standards, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
This position reports to the Manager (Business Improvement and Systems) and has zero direct reports.
