Overview of responsibilities:


  • Participate as a member of the leadership team to provide expert advice on key corridor access issues for the BAU maintenance, large projects and other associated projects as well as fulfilling the role of shutdown manager on the day of operations.
  • Lead and effectively coordinate all integrated possession planning, scheduling, and management through effective analysis of conflicting project dependencies and milestones and develop options that optimize project delivery, business and operational outcomes.
  • Work within businesswide and project management governance, client and legislative requirements and ensure all corridor access activities are conducted in accordance with the applicable SEQ Asset practices, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Build and manage constructive and collaborative relationships with key external and internal stakeholders including the interface between the Major Projects Teams and Queensland Rail Corridor Access Management team to balance access demands across train operation asset maintenance and capital projects.
  • Act as a point of escalation or mediation where risks arise with potential to impact business and or program objectives, including accountability for direct intervention.
  • Contribute to a highperformance culture focused on safety leadership, teamwork, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and achieving highquality delivery and performance outcomes whilst building long term value for Queensland Rail.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Extensive level of knowledge of Queensland Rail's SEQ network, practices, policies, standards and procedures used in asset and operations planning.
  • Extensive level of knowledge of Queensland Rail's civil, signalling and overhead traction systems.
  • High level of skill in integrating, scheduling, programming and monitoring integrated shutdowns and management of major adhoc rail disruptions to ensure customer, supplier and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • High level of people management skills, with strong influencing, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of skill in managing complex operational issues as they arise and producing both innovative and realistic solutions.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.

You would also be required to:

  • Work shift work.
  • Be available for weekend work.
  • Be available for call out outside of normal working hours.
  • Work varying hours to meet operational requirements.
  • Successfully complete a CAT 3 medical prior to commencing the role.
