    As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced public practice accountant with a passion for reviewing work and coaching others. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge which they use to identify areas for employee development and to add value to each client engagement. This role will be key in ensuring the quality of the work meets our high standards and work turnaround timeframes are being achieved.In addition, this role will;

    • Support the team leader though developing and coaching junior team members and completing work reviews.
    • Prepare financial statements (interim and year-end) and income tax returns for small to medium-sized entities.
    • Prepare monthly & quarterly BAS/IAS
    • Liaise with clients and managers for queries and review of work
    • Attend client meetings and deliver client work in agreed timeframes and our service standards.
    • Reconcile accounts and transactions in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and other software.
    • Research tax-related issues and provide advice to clients on business operations, regulatory matters, restructures, accounting system implementation, estate planning, succession planning.
    • Advise on other business-related matters e.g. fringe benefits tax, tax planning, payroll assistance and any other tax or business services related matters; and
    • Ad hoc research work as required.

    Skill and Qualifications for success:

    • Degree qualified and in the process of completing your CPA or CA
    • At least 4 - 6 years of experience within a public practice environment undertaking advisory, tax and accounting work.
    • Ability to service a client's file autonomously and with minimal oversight from your manager
    • Possess Xero qualifications and have experience working with Xero
    • Understanding of how to use MYOB and QuickBooks
    • Experience managing clients and coaching staff to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
    • Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and ability to prioritise work
    • A desire to learn, share your knowledge and progress
