Lycopodium Minerals are currently recruiting for an experienced
FIFO Training Manager to work for our long-term gold project in
Ghana, West Africa on a
6 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster.

Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, the Training Manager will provide specialist advice to ensure the project is delivered professionally and safely in line with Company, Client and industry requirements.


The Training Manager's role includes ensuring the effective coordination of HSE training and development activities, and providing assistance to line managers and employees that will enable the efficient management of health and safety on the Project.


The tasks you'll perform:


  • Identify HSE training and induction requirements for site personnel and supervisors.
  • Work with the HSE manager to produce Inductions, training modules and support materials.
  • Design, plan and conduct tailored training programs to meet the Company, Client, regulatory and contractual health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews of industry training methods and content and advise the Project HSE Manager.
  • Confirm the collection and maintenance of training records (qualifications and certificates).
  • Assist in the implementation of existing and new HSE policies, procedures and processes.
  • Encourage and build a positive workplace culture and team environment.
  • Manage the maintenance of the Project Training registers.
  • Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives within the construction team which support the business' continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to junior team member's professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.

The expertise you'll bring:


  • Technical Certificate/Tertiary Education Qualification, Degree or Diploma in Health and Safety Management (desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in training in mineral processing and or related industries in international projects. Ideally site based
  • Experience in EPC/EPCM/Client/Owner is desirable
  • Extensive experience in high risk management, VOC, construction
  • High attention to detail and sound knowledge of HSE policy and procedures.
  • Excellent ability to influence stakeholders of different cultures both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
