Our Tax team forms part of our broader Corporate Services business to ensure we meet our ongoing tax compliance obligations and properly manage tax reporting in relation to UniSuper and related entities.

**The role

Reporting to our Head of Tax this role supports the development and monitoring of an investment tax framework which will assist the Fund with managing investment tax both domestically and foreign jurisdictions.

Your role will be to ensure we maintain good governance in relation to investment tax matters.

Working closely with the Investment Tax Managers and our in-house Investments team you will also be responsible for

  • Assisting with investment tax matters for new or existing investments including assistance with investment tax due diligence, tax advice and tax structuring in relation to domestic and foreign investments across all investment asset classes.
  • Working closely with stakeholders from other UniSuper Business Units including the Investments Business Unit, Investments Legal Team and Corporate
  • Services.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders including UniSuper's Custodian to review investment tax portfolio settings and ensure accurate tax reporting, as well as UniSuper's external tax advisors for the successful delivery of tax advice and obligations.
  • Assist with investment tax matters generally including operational activities as required. Assisting with foreign tax obligations and filings as required.

We are seeking an individual looking for a career opportunity to work in a successful inhouse Tax team. Keen to develop your careers within Corporate Tax, you will also bring

  • Bachelor degree or above and either Chartered Accountant (CA) / Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) qualified preferred.
  • Experience in a superannuation fund, funds management or financial services organisation with general tax and/or fund accounting experience
  • General investments tax knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and committed to delivering a high quality of work Effective communication and interpersonal skills
