Knox Private Hospital is fully accredited hospital with more than 35 years' experience in providing healthcare to our community. It has grown to become one of the largest private hospitals in Victoria.

We are looking for friendly, hardworking individuals with great customer service skills to join our team.

Working within a busy hospital Catering Department, in team and individual settings, duties will include meal delivery, tray set and service, food preparation, cleaning and dishwashing.

We offer a friendly and supportive atmosphere, with an extensive education program, flexible working environment, and onsite car parking.


As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
  • Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
  • Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
  • Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
  • Provide high standard of customer service
  • Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients

Essential Criteria:


  • Previous experience in a hospital hospitality setting (desirable)
  • Food Handler Certificate or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Commitment to service excellence.
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well independently and within a team
  • Flexibility / Ability to work early/ late shifts and weekend work
  • Available for on call shifts
