The Jacobs Ecology team deliver complex and technically challenging local and national projects for clients involved in a wide range of infrastructure and development activities, including state and national public utilities, large-scale environmental initiatives, renewable energy projects, transport infrastructure, resources and energy projects and large scale environmental management programs.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Ecologist to our New South Wales Ecology team as we continue to build our national practice.

You will provide key technical input to a range of ecological projects across various industry sectors, working as part of our established team.

Your skills and experience will assist in the development of junior staff within the team.


Here's What You'll Need:


As an experienced terrestrial Ecologist; you will have a good understanding of environmental science; New South Wales and national legislative requirements and industry practices relevant to the field of ecology; experience with delivering ecology-related projects; strong technical report writing and data collation skills.


Other key requirements for the role include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Ecology or Environmental Science related discipline and BAM accreditation
  • Field survey experience planning, mobilising and managing health and safety risks
  • Driver's license essential, 4wd experience and accreditation preferable
  • Some experience in GIS, field mapping and developing and managing spatial datasets would be looked upon favourably
  • Working knowledge and experience with the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act
  • Working knowledge of New South Wales legislative requirements for the removal of native vegetation.
  • Good botany skills would be looked upon very favourably
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
