Position Descriptor:

The position is as a specialist Music/Performing Arts teacher.

The teacher is responsible for teaching a quality-differentiated program to mainstream, special options and Intensive English Language classes that caters for students from Reception to Year 6.

The role also includes leading the development of a Wakkakiri troupe and the Festival of Music Choir. Having the ability to play, teach and develop an Instrumental Music program is essential.

  • Experience in working with a complex, multicultural community will support the person to be successful in this role as will an understanding and ability to meet the needs of students with social, emotional and behavioural complexities. A commitment to Behaviour Education is essential. A working knowledge of current literacy practices will support success in this role.
  • Depending on student numbers, the role may include some general classroom teaching.
  • Please note that part time and flexible arrangements will be considered.
