You are a product owner passionate about solving customer needs through technology, have a strong background in software engineering and excited by the challenge of building safe and reliable systems on cutting edge technology.

  • Together, we will engineer the future of banking with innovative Gen AI solutions
  • Please note that we have multiple opportunities.

Do work that matters

As we continue our pursuit of NPS +30 we need to transform the way we engage with our customers and colleagues.

The Gen AI Domain has been set up to build the tools and capabilities needed within the group tapping into the promise of Generative AI as a key technology to solve those needs.

This domain will power the creation of AI experts that can support nuanced & personalised conversational experiences in our customer and staff facing channels while using the same expertise to drive dynamic self-healing distributed workflow orchestration for service fulfilment and support units.

We will enable the broader group to leverage broad Generative AI capabilities through building domain owned platforms and frameworks for use across the bank, such as the Gen.

AI Hub.

See yourself in our team

As a Product Owner, you'll be accountable for a set of the Gen AI platforms and services owned by the Gen AI domain used across CBA by crews to solve key customer needs.

You will be responsible for deeply understanding the needs of our end customers and internal consumers, owning the roadmap of the products, accountable for ensuring the product meets those needs and working with the Group Practice Lead - Gen AI solutions to ensure customer success.

You will:

  • Lead a crossfunctional squad composed of engineers reporting within the Gen AI Chapter Areas Lead as well as from other areas of CDAO (Data Analysts and Data Scientists) and CTO.
  • Use your engineering background to deeply understand the customer need for the platforms targeting internal engineers (within the Gen.

AI Hub crew), or to engage with your crew to understand the feasibility of transformative business capabilities (within the Gen.

AI Business Platforms crew).

  • Prioritise the crew backlog based on balancing business partner demands and long term sustainability of your products and services, in order to optimise the overall customer experience, NPS scores, cost reduction and risk profile
  • Engage with SRE teams, consuming service owners, the controls and risk communities to incorporate risk management into the platforms and deliver platform resilience
  • Manage product delivery expectations and status reporting to technology and business stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for the risks, costs & benefits of your platforms and services, driving the adoption of reliability, testing practices, and responsible AI.
  • Understanding that Gen AI technology is incredibly fast moving, you will help the engineers within your squad to understand which aspects of the solution need variability vs stability.
  • Be selfmotivated to keep learning while delivering concrete outcomes for customers.
  • Be an ambassador in driving the Gen AI transformation across the bank working with the Group Practice Gen AI Solutions lead, sharing information and supporting other teams in their learning journey, and building an open learning culture within the practice.
