About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Technical Trainer to join our Aircraft, Training and Sustainment business based at the Pearce RAAF Base in Bullsbrook, Perth, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, performing interesting work and will employed on a permanent and full time basis.

The HAWK Lead-in Fighter (LIF) is the world's most successful advanced military jet trainer aircraft built on more than 35 years of fast jet training experience.

More than 1,000 aircrafts have operated across 18 countries, preparing more than 20,000 pilots for life in a fast-jet cockpit.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Deliver technical training, including workplace inductions, utilising contemporary learning and assessment strategies, while adapting to different learning styles
  • Collaborate with training providers to enhance the delivery of Aeroskills training, and support the apprenticeship programs through collaborative efforts with industry partners
  • Monitor the progress of apprentices and Vocational Education and Training (VET) students, provide feedback and support to ensure successful skill development
  • Develop and implement technical assessment strategies that align with VET and apprenticeship assessment frameworks, including the verification of competencies
  • Monitor and provide feedback on learner progress and performance in line with business requirements and training frameworks
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and provide advice on training and assessment services
About YOU

  • Aviation technical experience and experience in training or learning and development
  • Certificate 4 in Aeroskills or equivalent, good computer skills and knowledge of industry frameworks and qualifications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support technical workforce learners
  • Experience with training and learning management systems and the ability to adapt your delivery style to suit the learner's needs
  • A continuous improvement mindset, welldeveloped selfmanagement skills and a demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative


Whilst not essential, A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) qualification will be highly regarded, or the willingness to gain this qualification within 6 months of commencing in the role.
