The School of Clinical Sciences is developing the future of clinical healthcare, from training the next generation of industry professionals to undertaking crucial research into key areas in the clinical sciences.


The School of Clinical Sciences is composed of five distinct disciplines; pharmacy, podiatry, paramedicine, medical radiation sciences and radiation therapy.

Each delivering courses that provide real-world clinical experience taught by contemporary, practicing healthcare professionals.


The School offers bachelor degrees in pharmacy, podiatry, paramedicine, medical imaging, radiation therapy, and postgraduate courses in ultrasound and podiatry, as well as research Masters and PhDs.

The School has a globally-recognised research program, changing clinical practice for the better, advancing healthcare technologies and treatments to improve outcomes for individuals and communities.


What you need to succeed


To thrive in this role, you will be a dynamic academic who fosters student learning and development, with a strong investment in work-integrated learning approaches to ensure real world skills in graduates.


You will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area and experience working as a practicing Podiatrist, including possession of current registration from the Podiatry Board of Australia, or eligibility to register.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contemporary teaching practice, including an understanding of the changing context of health care, professional accreditation requirements and ability to embed new ways of learning and teaching and working within the health care sector.
  • Record of contributing to research/scholarship, including generating research income and quality publications.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively supervise research students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with colleagues and engage with industry stakeholders to enhance teaching and research performance.
  • Demonstrated experience using technology in an innovative way to facilitate and enrich learning environments, connectivity and collaboration.
  • Record of professional contribution to the discipline of Podiatry and strong professional networks.

Desirable:

  • Experience in teaching or supervising students in the context of clinical practice and the highrisk foot.
  • Completion of or working towards a Boardapproved program of study in podiatric therapeutics and Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines.
