With that in mind, we are seeking the experience of a passionate Environmental and Sustainability Manager based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, to assess and identify environmental risk and work with our nationwide operations on delivery of their environmental plans.

In additional, 30% of your role will include project management of some exciting sustainability projects.

Working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, this role will require regular travel to undertake environmental monitoring and environmental incident management and auditing activities.

With excellent interpersonal skills, you will educate, coach and influence business leaders to ensure a deep understanding of environmental and sustainability issues, opportunities, risks, and responsibilities.


As the National Environmental and Sustainability Manager, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of Environmental Plans e.g. ISO4001 across Nationwide operations.
  • Provide technical expertise in environment, sustainability, and energy issues within the business.
  • Build a risk profile of the group environmental risk platform.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills being able to communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders (Operations, Management, Regulatory Bodies).
  • Identifying the standards, environmental risks and implementing appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Working closely with sites on the environmental incidents.
  • Ability to project manage key sustainability workplans.

Qualifications:


  • Relevant education or demonstrated success in similar roles.
  • HSE Lead Auditor qualifications (IRCA, TABSQA or equivalent).

To be successful in this role, you will need extensive experience in:

  • The right mindset to work in a highly functioning team.
  • An Environmental Management role with a focus on strategy, reporting and analytics.
  • Dealing with complex reporting timelines and cross mapping of information flow to key stakeholders.
  • The development, improvement of and delivery of Environmental Management Systems (eg. ISO 14001)
  • The development and improvement of environmental reports and analytics in a large complex organisation.
  • The use and improvement of IT systems for recording and reporting of environmental data.
  • Relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of key legislative requirements e.g NGER Act 2006; Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 etc. and parallel legislation is required and any experience in logistics and supply chain will be highly regarded.
