Position Information:


Gymea Technology High School (610 students, including 20 Aboriginal students) is a comprehensive coeducational high school situated in the Sutherland Shire in the southern suburbs of Sydney.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated expertise in maximising student HSC performance through quality teaching in HSIE courses.

Demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative curriculum change with teaching, learning and assessment programs.

Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in fostering collaborative and professional practices focused on ongoing improvement.


Proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of the school leadership team in supporting improvements in learning and wellbeing.

Demonstrated capacity in leading future focused learning to support the growth of young community citizens in a digital age.


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
