The Caseworker Role
As the MST-CAN Caseworker, you will be a part of a supportive and professional team including:1 x MST-CAN Practice Manger
1 X MST-CAN Clinical Specialist

3 x MST-CAN Therapist

1 x Mental Health Professional (part-time)


To promote the success of the MST-CAN service, we provide intensive training in the MST-CAN model as a part of our onboarding process, followed by regular supplementary training from an external Consultant.

We also provide you with training in evidence-based trauma therapies including CBT and Prolonged exposure.


Duties


As the team's Caseworker, you will provide casework support to family members who are engaged with MST-CAN Therapists, liaise with relevant stakeholders and complete visits with clients in their home environment.

MST-CAN is a collaborative treatment model and so you will also be working with relevant members of the family's ecology, such as extended family, schools, and external agencies.

You will participate in continuing individual and group supervision to assure adherence to MST-CAN model.


Role Requirements:


  • Demonstrated experience in case management with highrisk families involved in child protection
  • Experience working with families in homebased and communitybased settings
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A knowledge of the resources and services available on the Central Coast to support our families
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families to develop and follow safety plans

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within an evidencebased program
  • An understanding of court systems, parenting and life skills
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Understanding or awareness of the impacts of trauma
