Position Information:


Cronulla High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school located in south-eastern Sydney, adjacent to Cronulla Beaches and part of the Sutherland Shire.

Cronulla High School's current enrolment of 1,250 students, has a dedicated and supporting school community committed to improving student learning outcomes.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead both the welfare and learning support teams to provide evidencebased interventions that foster engagement and improve student outcomes.
  • Proven capacity to develop, implement and lead innovative wellbeing programs that contribute to whole school improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders that promote student wellbeing.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as a dynamic member of the school executive team in leading initiatives that address the school's strategic directions.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
