ABOUT THE ROLE


The City of Ballarat is currently seeking an experienced individual to work within our Waste and Environment team servicing the Ballarat municipality to provide supervision to our Kerbside Waste Collection team.

This full-time role will be responsible for the following delivery of services:

  • Providing operational, supervisory and administrative support to deliver Waste, Recycling and Greenwaste collection services within Council controlled precincts.
  • Kerbside Waste, Recycling and Greenwaste collection services ensuring public and workplace safety in accordance with industry standards and procedures.
  • Delivery of a high standard of overall Waste, Recycling and Greenwaste collection services with Council precincts in compliance with organisational requirements.
  • High level of customer service to internal stakeholders, residents and contractors.
  • Completion of activities assigned by the Coordinator Waste & Street Cleaning Operations.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Experience in a Heavy Vehicle operational environment, allocating plant & drivers.
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and motivate remotely located (driving) staff in waste services or related field.
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence is essential (HR preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service.
  • A demonstrated understanding or interest & knowledge of waste services and practices.
  • Computer based knowledge consistent with the requirements of this position, including reporting and payroll (MS Office).
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor adherence to health and safety policies and procedures within a team environment, including hazard management, HVNL, and other compliance activities.
