About the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Branch

An integral part of the team which executes sections of the Department's Strategic Plan, the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Branch leads the delivery of a range of employment services assurance activities.

This includes responsibility for assessing the quality, compliance and payment integrity of employment services programs.

As part of this oversight, the Branch works with program areas to develop and coordinate assurance plans, undertakes targeted assurance activities and data analytics projects, manages the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), and program risk oversight.

In doing so, it establishes program assurance strategies, governance, program and provider assurance performance information, and provides advice to the Minister, the Executive and across the Group.


Working in the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Branch, you will gain valuable experience in stakeholder engagement, government writing, risk and/or quality assurance management, investigation and analysis skills, and leadership.


The Role

The Quality Assurance and Risk Management Branch is seeking dynamic people who have a keen interest in identifying risk for the department, providers, participants and program areas through undertaking quality assurance activities.

Working as a team you would identify potential areas of concerns through the analysis of data and make recommendations for continual improvement.


Duties and Responsibilities

APS6 Data Analyst

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysing employment services data to identify noncompliant or aberrant behaviours.
  • Researching market behaviour to develop and enrich risk indicators of noncompliance.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to develop measures and build dashboards to enable program risk monitoring.
  • Design and build surveys to gather data and intelligence.

EL1 Data Analyst

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysing employment services data to identify noncompliant or aberrant behaviours and using this data to inform processes and policy, and advise senior leadership.
  • Using market behaviour research to identify potential risk areas and develop risk indicators of noncompliance.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop measures.
  • Lead and inform the development of dashboards to enable program risk monitoring.
  • Interpret surveys data to produce intelligence reports.

Qualifications and Education

Required

  • Experience with SQL or other coding languages (such as SAS, R, Qlik or PowerBI).

Desirable

  • Project management qualification or experience.
EL 1 Data Analyst

  • Project management qualification or experience.
