Reporting to the General Counsel Australia, the Chief Privacy Officer will be responsible for supporting continued compliance with privacy laws and regulations within Ramsay Health Care Australia (RHCA), as well as the Ramsay Group's approach to satisfying its privacy obligations globally in pursuing its strategic goals.


The Chief Privacy Officer will be required to provide clear and practical privacy advice across the growing business in relation to new initiatives and projects, including digital developments.


The role will also be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and implementing legislative changes
  • Developing key policies and guidelines
  • Managing data breaches
  • Completing internal reporting
  • Providing training and education to the stakeholders

Your Skills and Experience
With a minimum of 10 years' experience in a Data Privacy or related field you'll have broad experience that includes:

  • Privacy Policy ownership and compliance management in a corporate environment
  • Providing comprehensive, strategic and practical advice and development of associated policies/guidelines to aid implementation
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks including the use of data repositories
  • Proactive monitoring, identification and assessment of risks related to privacy
  • Responding to data privacy breaches, and implementing appropriate corrective actions

Furthermore, the following will be advantageous:

  • Legal qualification and experience +/
  • practising certificate
  • Previous experience in the health sector working with sensitive data
  • Previous experience advising on digital strategies
  • Working knowledge of data ethics and cyber security risks in healthcare
