An opportunity has become available for an industry-experienced person to join our Container Team as Container Production Supervisor.

The Container Production team is an integral part of our wholesale nursery and a bustling area of the business year-round.

Working in conjunction with our Container Production Manager you will assist in managing the Container Production team and processes, on a day-to-day basis.

You will have strong wholesale nursery knowledge, and experience supervising a small team. Your nursery experience does not specifically need to be in container production as we can teach you these skills.

From propagation to picking and managing orders, this role will enable you to gain the skills to oversee the end-to-end container production process, the result of which is the supply of beautiful potted trees around Australia.

Core responsibilities:

The core responsibilities of the Container Supervisor include but are not limited to the following:

• Actively supervising container production process from propagation, potting, trimming, spraying and weeding, to picking orders for customers
• Responsible for induction, training and, supervision of the Container team on a daytoday basis
• Managing Container Production supplies
• Tractor operation
• Basic knowledge of irrigation operations, maintenance and repairs
• Managing bagged tree process

Qualifications & experience

• 35 years wholesale nursery experience
• Experience operating agricultural machinery; tractors with implements, potting machine
• A tertiary qualification in horticulture (or other relevant qualification) beneficial
• Current driver's licence required
• Heavy Vehicle driver's licence and Forklift licence required
• Current First Aid, Chemical Users Certificate and Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP) preferred

JFT Nurseries is one of the largest wholesale production nurseries in Australia. A family run business with over 35 years' experience in the industry, situated in the Silvan/Monbulk area. We are an open ground nursery growing quality Fruiting, Flowering and Ornamental trees and shrubs.
