Georges River Council owns and operates six children's services across our LGA located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Kogarah, Penshurst, South Hurstville, and Oatley West.

Council's Children's Services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow.

We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their Early Childhood Education profession.

We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans.

About the Opportunity


Council is currently seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator (Cert III) to join the dedicated and passionate early learning service team.

This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity, based in Carss Park.

  • One (1) Permanent, Fulltime position based at Narani Childcare Centre, in Carss Park
  • Salary is from $58, $67,255.96 per annum plus 11% superannuation
  • 70 hours per fortnight with potential to opt into 9day fortnight based on operational requirement

About You
You're someone who is dedicated to providing high quality early childhood education and care to the community.

In this role you will be responsible for:
- providing a friendly, secure, and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre, and to assist in the planning and implementation of programmes which meet the developmental, cultural and special needs of children in care.
- providing support to and ensuring regular communication with parents of children in care.


What We're Looking For
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Children's Services.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry.
  • Approved current Working with Children Check, with at least 6 months until expiry.
  • NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate.
  • Previous experience working with children 05 years of age, in a Childcare Centre setting.
  • Sound oral communication skills and ability to relate well to children, parents, staff, volunteers and the community.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide rolemodelling as appropriate.
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
