Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Odyssey NSW has an opportunity to join our dynamic and growing AOD team in our residential centres.


Odyssey NSW is a leading provider of Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment and support in NSW and our residential TC's provide a holistic range of supports to those seeking hope and change in their lives.


We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality support and treatment for the clients of the Odyssey NSW Residential Therapeutic Community.


AOD Workers provide a range of specialised AOD treatment services within the Odyssey NSW Model of Care including comprehensive and brief assessment, group facilitation, case management and AOD treatment support.


This role also provides individual AOD and wellbeing recovery one-to-one treatment, care planning, care coordination and case management including working with external services and providers where required to further client individual goals.


Skills and Experiences:


SELECTION CRITERIA:


  • Relevant VET qualification.
- (Desirable) Tertiary qualification in relevant field.

  • Significant experience supporting persons with alcohol and other drugs support needs, mental health support needs and/or coexisting support needs.
  • Experience in group facilitation and group program delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience working in team environment to deliver coordinated support.
  • Experience working within a nongovernment AOD treatment program including particularly experience working within the Therapeutic Community model.
  • Experience in provision of onetoone support for people with AOD and/or Mental Health support needs.
  • Computer literacy including understanding of MS Office Suite and use of Client Management Systems.
  • Demonstrable communication skills including report writing, case note writing.
  • Knowledge of evidencebased treatment, harm minimisation, care coordination and support strategies.
- (Desirable) Hold a current NSW Driver's License.

  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment.
  • Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
