We are seeking multiple
Service Designers to design and deliver new experiences and improved outcomes for customers across a wide range of digital solutions.
As a Service Designer, you will play a crucial role in driving a human-centric and holistic approach to service delivery.
You will help design and guide solutions for multiple, multi-year projects that cut across different program areas, including the transformation and uplift of government programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and plan endtoend service design engagements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize data and qualitative insights to design innovative solutions.
- Understand and articulate how services need to change to meet user, business, and government needs, including the creation of service blueprints.
- Define and communicate customer and business needs.
- Work with other designers and enterprise architects to identify opportunities to reuse existing capabilities and platforms, including dependencies between projects and products.
- Plan and conduct user research and usability tests to ensure effective design solutions.
- Support IT delivery teams in understanding requirements for taking a service live.
- Assist Product Owners in translating service blueprints into work packages for delivery teams.
- Define key metrics and measurements to evaluate impact and support executives in using data for continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in leading stakeholders and project teams to generate journey maps, service blueprints, service models, and actionable insights for service and experience improvement.
- Ability to oversee and participate in research activities, utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to drive improvements.
- Experience working in an Agile team, including scoping and breaking down work into design deliverables within set timeboxes.
- Proficiency in using design software such as Miro, Figma, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other relevant tools to effectively communicate designs to executive and delivery teams.
Desirable Criteria:
- Understanding of the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard and/or the UK Design Council's Double Diamond Model.
- Experience working in a design capacity for a federal government agency.
- Versatility across various user experience practices, including user research, stakeholder engagement, information architecture, interaction design, UI/visual design, prototyping, and testing.
